Beijing Imposes Strict Drone Rules Amid Security Push
From this Friday, Beijing will introduce stringent rules that prohibit the sale and renting of drones and demand that all drone owners register with the police. Although China is striving to achieve a "low-altitude economy" of $290bn by 2035, such safety laws, which include compulsory flight permits, e-training, and in-person pick-up services for maintenance, will make Beijing one of the most heavily restricted airspace regions in the world. Top producers, including DJI, are already emptying their shelves in Beijing.
